    Harry Potter and the Magic of Employee Engagement

    Dr. Fran Norwood, MBA, SPHR

    Dr. Norwood is a seasoned business professional with expertise in both large and small business organizations and in educational settings. Her work experience includes both international and domestic business organizations. She is a champion for values-based leadership.

    She earned her MBA in 2008 from Walden University. She holds a Ph.D. from LSU. In 2005 Dr. Norwood was awarded her Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR) certification. Her current certification expires in 2014.

    She is a full-time business and management instructor at Delgado Community College, Northshore Campus. She teaches both face-to-face and online classes. In addition, she is a partner and owner in a home pet-care business. Her responsibilities include human resources, operations, and finance.

     

    Ms. Tracy L. Norwood, MA Organizational Communication

    Dr. Norwood’s previous presentations for the Northshore Region Human Resource group have included strategic business topics. She presented at the Louisiana SHRM Conference in April 2011. This year she has co-authored today’s presentation with Ms. Tracy Norwood.

    Tracy received her MA in Organizational Communication from Southeastern Louisiana University in July 2012. While in Grad School, she was awarded a Graduate Research Assistantship, and had the opportunity to study abroad in London, England in the summer of 2011. Before her graduate school endeavors, she taught high school English Literature both in New Jersey and in Louisiana. Well versed in all aspects of Harry Potter, Tracy is excited to share its connections with employee engagement here. Currently Tracy works part-time as the Communications and Social Media Manager for a small business in Mandeville while she pursues fulltime employment in pr/communications.
